Ryan “Ryanimay” Conferido is native to Southern California, and currently lives in Downey, the city in LA county where he was born. The introduction to dance began at 16, with his discovery of bboying, through which he collected and learned from circulated videotapes and competed in local tournaments around LA. By age 20, he later found refinement and expansion to his craft by taking a community college Hip-hop course, and thus uncovering the collegiate dance community in California. After a successful run competing in the circuit with the “Sick-Step” dance team, by age 22, he auditioned for the very first season of “So You Think You Can Dance” and became a top 10 finalist. After spending time as a professional dancer and teaching international workshops, he created the dance company, “Quest Crew” along with best friend, Hokuto Konishi. After winning America’s Best Dance Crew (season 3), the group toured internationally from 2009, performing as a headlining act, and also working with many artists for stage and music video. By 2011, he embarked on a partnership with pop duo, LMFAO, and toured with them internationally for 2011 and 2012, also being featured in their music videos, and on stage as a dancer and keyboardist. Ryan continues to expand in his music and dance, and is dedicating more time to sharing the knowledge and experience that has been gained in his fortunately fruitful career as an artist.
